Please find attached an IHRC Urgent Action Alert that highlights the plight of all Ahmadi Muslims from Pakistan facing deportation by the German immigration authorities.

Moazam Basharat is a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He escaped from Pakistan to save his life. He came to Germany to seek a place to live in peace. He has applied for asylum and was hoping for a successful outcome. However it has come to our knowledge that he is captured by immigration authorities to be deported back to Pakistan. It is now a well known fact that Ahmadis in Pakistan are brutally persecuted under the Anti Ahmadiyya laws legislated by the Government of Pakistan.Under these laws Ahmadis are charged for blasphemy and executed. Several Ahmadis have been murdered. Many are suffering in prisons and tortured and discriminated and humiliated in society. Those who are deported are sent to the Prison because they claimed asylum and sending them back is very much like pushing them into fire.Such people deserve humanitarian consideration and provided refuge to be able to live a normal life.We hope the Government of Germany will intervene in this matter and stop the deportation of Moazm Basharat and consider his asylum case with sympathy.

We urge you to intervene and prevent this  deportations and ensure that this individual is not sent back to Pakistan where he may face imminent death or other serious harm.  In particular, as reflected in the most recent human rights reports from UN, UNHCR, U.S., U.K. and other European bodies attached herein, the situation for Ahmadis in Pakistan is extremely dire and precarious and requires swift action.

Germany has always played a leading role in providing sanctuary to oppressed and persecuted communities from all over the world. We implore you to make a careful and comprehensive evaluation of the most recent events affecting Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan.

Kind regards,

Nasim Malik
General Secretary
International Human Rights Committee (IHRC)

Faith and Freedom Summit
https://faithandfreedomsummit.eu/
The Faith and Freedom Summit is not an organization. It’s a campaign proposed and run by a large coalition of faith-based and non faith-based NGOs and supported by many EU stakeholders. It has been launched on June 28, 2018 with a high-level launch event. This non-partisan event gathered high-level thought-leaders to highlight where religious freedom is hindered in European Union today, to assess areas that need to be improved as regards the protection of freedom of religion or belief, and to be a force of proposal to outline policies toward a greater respect of religious diversity in Europe.
FoRB Roundtable Brussels-EU
https://www.forbroundtable.org/
The FoRB Roundtable Brussels-EU is an informal group of individuals from civil society who gather regularly to discuss FoRB issues on a non-attribution basis. It is simply a safe space where participants gather, speak freely in sharing ideas and information, and propose joint advocacy actions to address specific FoRB issues and problems globally.
