We cordially invite you to attend the 56th Session Human Rights Council Side Event on “Countering Islamophobia in Asia: From Awareness to Action” on Friday, 5 July 2024, from 13:00 to 14:00 in Room XXV at the Palais des Nations.

In recent years, the rise of Islamophobia in Asia has emerged as a critical challenge to religious freedom and human rights across the region. This side event aims to transform dialogue into dedicated action, highlighting effective strategies and fostering international cooperation to address and mitigate Islamophobia.

The objective of this event is to elevate the discourse on Islamophobia from mere awareness to actionable commitments. By bringing together experts, activists, and policymakers, we aim to outline concrete steps that stakeholders can take to combat Islamophobia and promote a more inclusive and tolerant society across Asia. This event will serve as a platform for catalyzing change and fostering a region-wide commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of Muslim communities throughout Asia.

The session will consist of a moderated panel discussion featuring up to five distinguished speakers

Through thoughtful dialogue and targeted action, we aim to contribute to the awareness on Islamophobia in Asia and shaping a future where religious diversity is not only accepted but celebrated.

We cordially invite you to join us for this important event.
