During his recent visits in Strasbourg and Brussels from 29th September to 1st October, Luca Volontè had important meetings with extremely positive and promising results. volontè mogheriniFirst of all he met Elmar Broke (President of the EU Committee on Foreign Affairs, on the left) and Federica Mogherini (Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and High Representative of CFSP, on the right). He illustrated them the petition of the Novae Terrae Foundation promoted by CitizenGo to make people aware and encourage them to be more involved in the EU in response to the widespread extremist terrorism. This is a mobilization in defence of religious minorities, in particular the Christian one. The petition, thanks to its over 200.000 signatures, could not be ignored by the European Parliament. Mr. Broke and Mrs. Mogherini congratulated for this amazing work and accepted to be spokespeople and to promote the initiative during the hearings on next days at the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The CEO of Novae Terrae Foundation also met Anne Brasseur, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who was very impressed by the initiative and asked to extend the collection of signatures until next November. Basically the European Institutions want to improve their efforts in the same direction promoted by Luca Volontè. The signatures were later given to the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Brussels. These European conferences finished with other two important meetings and the delivery of the signatures to Pedro Agramunt Font de Mora (on the left), President of the EPP-CD Group in the Parliamentary Assembly in the Council of Europe (previous office of Luca Volontè), and Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Europe.
