What is “Coordination des Associations et des Particuliers pour la Liberté de Conscience” (CAP Freedom of Conscience)?

CAP Freedom of Conscience is a secular European NGO with United Nations Consultative Status, created in 1995 and dedicated to protect the Right of Freedom of Religion and Belief.

CAP Freedom of Conscience combats all forms of discrimination based on religion or belief by alerting European and International bodies.

CAP Freedom of Conscience collects testimonies of discrimination and human rights violations affecting religious or belief communities in order to disseminate them to international bodies, and in order to raise awareness and inform them as well as to generate debate on the protection of Freedom of Religion and Belief.

CAP Freedom of Conscience also advocates for any religious or spiritual group facing discrimination to have their right to Freedom of Religion and Belief recognized.

CAP Freedom of Conscience is a member of the European Federation for Freedom of Belief (FOB), European Network Of Religion and Belief (ENORB) and participate to the Civil Society Platform of Fundamental Rights created by the EU Fundamental Rights Agency.

The FoRB Roundtable Brussels-EU is an informal group of individuals from civil society who gather regularly to discuss FoRB issues on a non-attribution basis. We, the undersigned, are a group of individuals and organizations who collectively strive to promote freedom of religion or belief and human rights around the world. We are writing with concern regarding the use of anti-conversion laws to arrest and detain individuals for practicing their faith or belief and call on you to drop all charges against Christian Pastor Keshav Acharya and others.

IHRC brings into your kind notice about another unpleasant incident of the assassination of Rev. Pastor William Siraj aged 70 (L in the photo) an assistant pastor of Church of Pakistan, Peshawar Diocese, who was shot dead on 30 January 2022 at about 02:15pm afternoon in Peshawar. The other pastor identified as Rev. Patrick Naeem (R in the photo) survived the targeted killing attempt and according to the doctors he is critical but out of danger. Both pastors shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where Rev. Pastor William Siraj was pronounced as dead.

On July 13, 2007, the Supreme Court found Tai Ji Men not guilty of fraud, tax evasion or violation of tax codes. Tai Ji Men’s shifu and dizi who were illegally detained also received national compensation for wrongful imprisonment. Yet the Taxation Bureau continued to issue unjustified tax bills to Tai Ji Men and later even transferred the case to the Administrative Enforcement Agency. Tai Ji Men’s land and assets have been illegally seized and auctioned.

Since 2019 number of cases have been registered against Ahmadis in Cybercrime Wing, Lahore in which 6 Ahmadis are now behind bars. They are facing serious charges including the charge of defiling of Holy Quran which offence is punishable with sentence of life imprisonment and defiling the name of Holy Prophet (PBUH) which offence is punishable with capital sentence.
