Terrorists brutally execute worshippers at Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque in Burkina Faso

Terrorists have brutally executed nine worshippers at an Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque in the village of Mehdi Abad, near the town of Dori.

The gunmen invaded the Mosque and started harassing the worshippers after which they seperated nine of the elder men including the Imam, took them outside and killed them. They threatened other worshippers including children and warned them not to return to the Mosque.

The attack took place on Wednesday 11th January 2023 when worshippers had gathered for the evening prayers.

According to reports, this was not a random terrorist attack but was targetted at this community. The attackers had a long theological discussion with the Ahmadi Muslim worshippers and asked them which sect they belonged to and what their views were on Jesus. They also questioned the pictures of holy personages of the Ahmadiya Muslim Community which were in the Mosque.

They then forced the elderly men out of the mosque and left the youngsters in it. They were asked to denounce the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and when they refused, the terrorists fired and killed them instantly.

In 2010 dozens of Ahmadi Muslims were killed when terrorists stormed two Mosques in Lahore, Pakistan in a savage and brutal attack on peaceful worshippers.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community continues to be persecuted in Muslim- majority countries, especially Pakistan where anti-Ahmadiyya laws restrict them from practicing their faith.

Human rights groups have repeatedly expressed their deep concern over the lack of attention to the serious human rights violations perpetrated against the Ahmadiyya community around the world and called on the international community to step up efforts in bringing an end to the ongoing persecution of Ahmadis.

On July 13, 2021, UN human rights experts expressed their deep concern over the lack of attention to the serious human rights violations perpetrated against the Ahmadiyya community around the world and called on the international community to step up efforts in bringing an end to the ongoing persecution of Ahmadis.
