United for Human Rights and CAP LC submitted this joint written statement during the 62nd session of the UN Human Rights Council (15 June – 10 July 2026) under Agenda Item 3, updating the Council on the deteriorating situation of Russian spiritual teacher Konstantin Rudnev, currently detained in Argentina, and exposing the risks of transnational repression.

We alert the Council that Rudnev’s prolonged detention—despite three judicial orders for transfer to house arrest, absent evidence, and severe health conditions—reflects the dangerous influence of Russian-generated disinformation on Argentina’s judicial process, and to warn against potential extradition to a country where he would face persecution.

Bitter Winter – An Urgent Humanitarian Appeal Concerning the Case of Konstantin Rudnev
CAP LC joined ten international human rights organizations in submitting an urgent humanitarian appeal to Argentine authorities, warning that the Court of Cassation’s revocation of Rudnev’s house arrest endangered his life given documented medical fragility.
