Ethiopian Regime’s Escalated Military Campaign in the Amhara Region Amidst Performative “National Dialogue”
The Amhara International Alliance condemns Ethiopia’s full-scale military campaign in the Amhara Region, pursued even as the government promotes its National Dialogue Forum to the international community. The Alliance denounces the dialogue as political theater masking indiscriminate violence: drone strikes and heavy weaponry have hit civilians and historic churches, including in Dega Damot, West Gojam, deepening a manufactured humanitarian crisis. It calls for independent investigations, an immediate end to operations against civilians, and unhindered humanitarian access, arguing peace cannot be built on casualties.
