Committee Against Torture Puts France’s Law Enforcement Practices and Detention Conditions under Scrutiny

During the 82nd session of the Committee Against Torture (CAT)[i], France’s record on police practices and detention conditions faced pointed scrutiny. Omnium des Libertés (ODL) recent report submitted to the Committee[ii] provided testimony-driven evidence highlighting abuses by French law enforcement and violations of detainees’ fundamental rights.
