CAP Freedom of Conscience is pleased to partner with EMISCO for the international side event “Combating Racism, Xenophobia and Islamophobia: Strengthening Accountability and Protecting Human Rights”, to be held on
8 October 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM (CET), in Room 2 – Saski, Hotel Sofitel Victoria, Warsaw, on the margins of the OSCE ODIHR Warsaw Human Dimension Conference 2026.
Concept note :
Across many regions of the world, racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia are becoming increasingly normalized, fueling discrimination, exclusion, hate speech, and violence. Too often, such human rights violations occur with little or no accountability, fostering a climate of impunity that further undermines social cohesion and the protection of fundamental freedoms. This conference will examine the underlying factors driving these troubling trends, assess their impact on affected communities, and highlight the urgent need for stronger accountability, effective action, and a renewed commitment to the universal principles of human rights.
