United for Human Rights and CAP LC submitted this joint written statement during the 62nd session of the UN Human Rights Council (15 June – 10 July 2026) under Agenda Item 3, informing the Council of a serious and worsening pattern of transnational discrimination affecting members of Shincheonji, a Korean Christian new religious movement.
We alert the Council that anti-Shincheonji material produced in the Republic of Korea is now circulating internationally, influencing administrative decisions and shaping public opinion in multiple countries, and to urge the HRC to monitor this transnational defamation network and remind all states of their obligations to protect religious minorities from imported stereotypes.
